I've had both (well the S-Line Black Edition) on the TDi. No noticable handling difference really for normal use. Ride is more crashy on the S-Line BE, it does have 19s rather than 18s but having driven a standard S-Line as well, not much between them. Gone: 58 reg MY09 TT TDi - Condor Grey.
There are 3 settings, but there are two gearbox modes, D & S. Whichever 3 settings I am in, I can use the gearstick to swap between D & S, so I have 6 combinations: "comfort" D & S, "auto" D & S and "dynamic" D & S. The question is more is there a difference in the gearbox response between the 3 D modes: "comfort" D, "auto" D and "dynamic" D.
One good cosmetic benefit of S-line for 2.0T models is that you get finished exhaust tips in place of the rusty pipes. I could do without the S-line badges and stitching on the steering wheel type of stuff. Another odd thing that Audi does which drives up cost is to use unique front and rear lower bumper pieces.
