Visit Prague Castle & Christmas Market (2 December 2023 – 6 January 2024) You can easily spend a whole day at Prague Castle (both inside the various buildings and outside walking around the different squares and little lanes), which is why I think it’s a perfect solution for a cold day.
Magical markets . Thanks to medieval squares illuminated by twinkling lights, towering bauble-studded trees and wooden chalets selling traditional trinkets, Prague’s Christmas markets are some of the best. The largest can be found in the Old Town and Wenceslas Square, set among a stunning setting of Gothic grandeur.
Christmas markets in Munich will start closing around noon on Christmas eve and completely done by Christmas day - amazing at the speed they disappear. Prague will stay open pass New Years so that could affect your planning. Weekends are worse but weekdays especially the week before Christmas are pretty packed also.
