Vernon, NJ Beast. I signed up for my first Spartan race, the Beast at Vernon, NJ. Was curious how long should I expect to be on the course. On a normal 13 m run, it would take me a little less than 2 hours. However, I have been following this sub for a while and have learned that Vernon is almost all up a mountain.

I plan to take on the Vermont ultra in 2023 as well. It’s over 15k of elevation change and I believe it’s the toughest spartan ultra venue. I completed the tri state ultra twice which i thought was difficult which I think was closer to 10k of positive gain.
